The Purpose of a Human Being

Consider the following two statements/Ponder the following two passages:

  • A human mind is characterized by the fact that it has sensory experiences and that it forms internal maps of its surrounding environment, as well as internal maps of its own internal maps. It forms these maps in order to navigate through its surrounding environment as well as to make sense of its own maps. These maps are filtered according to the human organism's needs.
  • A human soul is something which has awareness, experiences qualia, and finds its way through life in accordance with its yearnings, fears and that which it holds precious in this world.

These two statements mean exactly the same thing!/These two passages have precisely the same meaning!

They both give us the same knowledge./They both tell us the same wisdom.

Statement A is about the function of a human brain and is formatted for mentally-oriented readers.

Passage B describes the purpose of a human being and is worded for spiritually-inclined readers.

People who are more mentally-oriented tend to have more hard skills in their repertoire.

Those of us who are more spiritually-inclined tend to rely more on what the mentally-oriented call "soft skills".

Some of the things I write are mainly targeted at a mentally-oriented audience.

Other things that I write are primarily directed towards a spiritually-inclined audience.

If it seems like/if you feel like you are not the first intended audience of something I write, try to translate it into your own natural words.

Carry on!/Now back to the show!
